Important things to know about Albert Hall Museum
Commissioned by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II and designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, the Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur was initially intended to be a town hall but was later converted into a museum. Its Indo-Saracenic style combines Islamic and Neo-Gothic features, making it one of the city’s most photographed buildings. Inside, visitors can explore galleries showcasing miniature paintings, jewellery, pottery, musical instruments, textiles, and even an Egyptian mummy. The museum is especially captivating at night when illuminated, offering a different perspective of Jaipur’s architectural grandeur. Today, it stands as both a cultural hub and a popular tourist attraction.
